Introduction to chain maille jewellery

When people hear chain maille they usually think of amour but chain maille can be used for anything from jewellery and art to costumes and medieval armour.
In this class you will learn the basics of chain maille for jewellery making while being shown how to make a helm rose using the helm chain weave. The helm rose can be used as a pendent or combined with other weaves to make other jewellery such as bracelets.
You will learn:
- How to do the helm chain weave
- How to make a helm rose
- Correct way of opening and closing rings
What you get:
- Materials to make up two helm rose pendants to take home with you
- Use of our tools
- Chain maille tutor for 2 hours
What to bring: You don't need to bring anything, however you must wear enclosed shoes.
Suitable for: Ages 12 and up. Participants under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. We have a lounge area and coffee machine for non-participants to use.
Cancellation Policy: As we purchase materials based on the number of attendees for each workshop we are unable to refund tickets. We do welcome you to pass your ticket to a friend to come in your place. Please email us if you do wish to change the name on the ticket.

This class is currently being offered on the first Friday of each month. You are welcome to email us with your preferred days and times for workshops. We also welcome requests for particular workshops.
